Jullienne Micole Dionisio Tam, 18 Creative Talent: Brush Calligraphy, Watercolor and Doodling. School : University of the East When and how did you discover your passion? Since I was a kid my mom would give me an overflowing supply of art materials, but back then it didn't really speak to me. When I was grade 5 my classmates started doodling and I would just copy them, but soon I realized I had to be original. I started keeping my own notebook with random doodles and writings, and so I'm guessing my love for art just started to grow from there. How do you live out creativity in your everyday life? Besides trying to doodle, write or do something artsy, I try my best to live out creativity by the way I take on life. I explore new things, appreciate the little things, find new adventures, and take chances. I never cease to learn and acquire new knowledge, at the same time impart to others what I know as well. What are your suggestions to other aspiring creative artists? As cliché as it may sound, I would always tell people to keep practicing. I suggest keeping a notebook and creating as much art as possible to be able to keep track of your progress. Also, not to be scared to experiment and take risks. When tired, rest , don't give up. Most importantly, honor God with your talent and give all the glory back to Him. |
Arvin Ebdalin Narvaza, 27 Vice-Principal and English Instructor Creative Talent: Calligraphy and Hand Lettering, Painting, Spoken Word Poetry Writing and Performing, Music and Dance, Photography When and how did you discover your passion? I discovered my passion for arts since I was young. Back then, my father would teach me music, sketching, and hand lettering. How do you live out creativity in your everyday life? I integrate creativity with what I also love doing--teaching. To ignite every student's spark for creativity, I would let my students produce output in class that would allow them to be creative in their own ways. After work, if time permits, I do my art to relieve me from any form of work-related stress. I also teach some of my students art sometimes if I'm available during their free time. What are your suggestions to other aspiring creative artists? I must say that there's no reason not to be creative. Do what you love, and love what you do. If people don't understand why you do your craft, remember that you do it for yourself. If you're stressed or down, turn to your creativity. It will definitely keep you sane and secured. |

Hannah Beatriz T. Dacanay, 19 Creative Talent: Drawing, Painting and Sketching School: University of Santo Tomas - College of Architecture When and how did you discover your passion? I started drawing and painting when I was about 3 or 4 years old. I just seemed to enjoy it, and simply creating something on my own is very satisfying. When I was in grade 4, our school used to award students who excelled in various subjects. I was blessed to receive the “Best in Art Award” in my class. That urged me to continue pursuing the arts and be passionate about it. How do you live out creativity in your everyday life? I love drawing and sketching during my breaks, amidst my busy schedule and schoolwork. I can never get away without having to draw almost every day especially with my program which is Architecture. What are your suggestions to other aspiring creative artists? Always believe that you are special because you are here for a reason and purpose. Once you start to believe in yourself and your capabilities, that’s when you become great. |
